This site does not use cookies
No cookies are set by this website, first-party or third-party. There is no advertising network, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no session recording and no cross-site tracking. That is why you are not being shown a consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.
The one thing we do store
The site offers a German/English toggle. When you choose a language, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| alstermind.lang | Local storage | Remembers whether you selected German or English. Holds one value: de or en. | Until you clear it |
It contains no identifier, reveals nothing about you, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is written only when you actively use the toggle. Because it exists purely to deliver a function you asked for, it is treated as strictly necessary and does not require consent.
Analytics without cookies
In the live environment we use Vercel Analytics to see which pages are visited and how quickly they load. It is a cookieless product: it records aggregated page views and performance measurements and does not set cookies or build a profile of individual visitors across sites.
Technically necessary processing
Delivering any website requires some processing that cannot be switched off, and none of it involves cookies:
- Standard server logs generated by our hosting provider, used to serve pages and protect against abuse.
- Security and rate-limiting measures applied at the hosting layer.
- Typefaces served from our own domain, so no request is made to an external font provider.
Removing the stored value
Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings removes the language preference immediately. The site continues to work exactly as before and will simply ask again by falling back to your browser’s language.
If this changes
If we ever add a technology that does require consent — an embedded video player, a marketing tag, a chat widget — we will implement a proper consent mechanism before it goes live and update this page. For related detail, see the Privacy Policy.
This page describes the technologies present in this website’s codebase at the revision date above. It is not legal advice.
